After being moved from Ward 12 to Ward 13, I was discharged on the 5 May. I only have praise for the dedicated staff on Ward 13 looking after me. How they cope with some of the patients I really don't know. They were all friendly and helpful. The bedding was changed daily and the cleaners did a great job considering they were working around beds and lockers. Everyone from porters to consultant were pleasant. There is one thing that I thought unacceptable and that's the fact patients from the men's area would stop and stare in at us.
A window at LH side needs replacing as the glass has blown. This has led to some mould which I consider unhealthy on a Hospital Ward.
I was admitted to A&E in a frightened and disorientated state. I was seen quickly in A&E where all tests were carried out.
I was then admitted to CDU.
Dr Knowles, the medical team and liaison psychiatric team were amazing and the care was excellent.
I would like to especially mention Charlotte Harper, a Health Care Assistamt who spent a bit of time with me and took me for a CT scan. She was so lovely and caring and provided reassurance. When I was discharged she took me out to our car and I was a little sad to say goodbye to her, such was the help she gave.
There is a lot of criticism regarding the NHS but I cannot thank Leighton enough.
What can I say, I know you would get better treated in police custody. I am here in a new ward in CDU, and have been for 31 hours, I have had Luke warm water all that time, in fact the wards is currently 80 degrees with no windows or aircon in my cubicle I was instructed by my doctor to go A&E for an MRI, that took 25 hours I am still waiting for the results some 6 hours later. As no results will be here I am left as a diabetic, with little food and only 3 cups of tea in those 31 hours. On numerous occasions I had very low sugar levels, for which I was given a glucose shot3 in total, the heat was unbearable especially wereing a collar there was no shower img allowed, I smell an feel embarrassed, my wife has be bringing me food and coffee, and having to pay for parking, but so does everyone else.
I have had to beg for pain killers. What on earth has happened to all the care.
Infection is rife, mother in hospital for a month after a hernia op.
Father contracted infection after a visit to the clinic and ended up in hospital for ten days.
Both mother and father then came home with covid.
Are patients not tested !!!!
Listen to others who know better then you!
This hospital is wasting the money being spent on it. The patients are an after thought, in fact, in the way of the dreams of the mangers, most of whom will be retired or will have found another job subject to the obligatory wage increase or a substantial pension.
I was booked in for a Gastroscopy in the Treatment Centre.
My treatment from start to finish was outstanding. I have to say a big THANK YOU to the gastroscopy team who were so patient with me when I explained that I had benign postural vertigo and was unable to lie flat!!
The team in the ward area were wonderful - toast has never tasted so good!
I would definitely recommend the Treatment Centre.
Consultation was on time, I was respected throughout my appointment and I would recommend Leighton to family and friends.
I just want to say Thankyou to all staff from 17-09-2020 to 19-09-2020

The care I received was excellent. The Colorectal Enhanced Recovery Programme (ERP) worked very well for me. I was helped by a great team applying all of the needed care and diligence. All of the people, in all supporting areas, worked so hard. Thank You.
